How do YOU deal with bad beats?

I just got bounced from yet another tourney from a bad beat... I know it happens blah blah, how do you deal with it? I've been getting so frustrated/irritated when a 95/5 shot comes through.

Extremely frustrated... Just wondering what people do when they go through a streak of these. Thanks.

dealing with bad beats, tourney version

1. "You called with that?"
2. curse under my breath
3. calculate where my chip stack would have been and guess how well i would have done (also called the self-delluding step)
4. get some coffee, go to the bathroom, etc.
5. play another one.

Along with the aforementioned tips I also suggest rubbing one out as well.... always seems to calm me down!!!!

I've managed to become pretty numb to these "bad beats" you speak of. I could rant on some of the bs I've seen, but I'm sure we all could.

To repeat what you've heard a million times:
-Happnes to everyone
-part of the game
-blah blah blah

LOL. I can't play another right away, I'll tilt my chances away without a doubt... But instead of mumbling curses in a move similar to Hellmuth I bitch and moan and shout obscenities at my computer screen. Lately I've been loosing it, calling people faggots because they called my UTG raise with K10s when i had AA.

I'm laughing now, but boy i was pissed last night, would have had a chance to make thousands.

I know how you feel. Last tourny I saw 3 playable hands out of about 40. Folding unless in the blinds and picked up pocket queens and push it all in preflop man calls with pocket aces.

Live I accept it easily as part of the game and online I swear it's rigged.

Re: How do YOU deal with bad beats?

To me, a bad beat means both bad play by an opponent and bad luck (for you, good luck for him). If I have the stronger hand going in, but lose to someone who was right to call me, that's just bad luck. But when I lose to someone who had no business calling, that's another story.

I concentrate on the fact that he's a bad player and figure I'll make my money back and more if he keeps doing stuff like that. Even if I'll never play the guy again, I figure I'll get it back with interest from the class of bad poker players.

It's like when your best shooter gets an open jumper in good position in basketball and misses; you know you'll win the game if they keep giving him that shot; same if the worst shooter on the other team makes an off-balance three-pointer.

I'm not saying it works, but it's what I try to do.
