Ballys has possibly the worst dealer/floor combo. It is almost funny how bad they are

Also, your site misled me (or Ballys changed policy). Hot dogs were $2.50, not free. Cheap bastards.

Im so sorry....
When I read your comment I called them up to find out what the deal was. Turns out they charge if you are playing limit, but if you play NL it is free.....F*ed up but that is the way they do it. It also explains why I never knew that, as I only play NL.
So I am off to correct that bit of information.

....and I owe you a hot dog or a drink, when we bump into eachother down in AC.

BTW, can you at least confirm that it was a damn good hot dog

It was a damn good hotdog. I didn't mind paying for it, the waitress told me when I ordered it it would be $2.50 so I didn't care.

The waitress service was terribly slow though, but this was management's fault, there were only 2 waitresses when every table in the room was full.

The other thing is that they would not spread any limit higher than 2/4 even though there were 7 of us on the interest list for 3/6. Every new table opened was 1/2 NL or a few 1-5 7Stud

I definitely posted my share of live straddles in that game.

I tried to google up the actual rules, but only found proposed rule changes.

Also in the house games area, all blackjack must be dealt face up from a shoe

[/ QUOTE ]
Not sure that I believe this, but I understand AC casinos cannot prohibit card counting. (I'm sure they make up for that by leveraging other rules in the house's favor, like restricting what you can split and double down.)

[/ QUOTE ]

If I am not mistaken, Atlantic City casinos are not allowed to throw you out for counting, but they can restrict you to a fixed bet size, or move the cut card to half the shoe, either of which will eliminate your advantage.

I think in most states the chip colors are: $1- blue or white, $5- red, $25- green, $100- black, $500- purple and so on....

I do like the thought that I can redeem my chips 30 years after the casino goes under, however.

[/ QUOTE ]

Huh? How's this work?

[/ QUOTE ]

I read somewhere that there's a fund maintained by the Casino Control Commission, presumably from its tax on the non-defunct casinos, for this purpose.

Glad to see they are changing the rule that was being enforced (albeit briefly) this year where they couldn't announce "Open Seating".

After it was discussed on here, I noticed early this summer that they weren't doing it at Borgata, and then on a more recent trip, I noticed the announcements again. Guess the interpretation changed, which is why I'm glad they are clearing that up in the rules. It was just stupid not to be able to say "Open seating at 10/20" after you've emptied the list.

In blackjack, I was referring to the players cards. Face down "pitch" games such as were once common in Nevada were never legal in AC. The Golden Nugget got fined something like 20K for dealing one by special request and that led to Steve Wynn leaving AC to build the Mirage.

Re: Bally\'s AC Floor: Live Straddles prohibited by NJ Gaming Commissio

You are correct, AC cannot bar counters. That's how we got the 8 deck game. Originally all the rules such as no resplit and double after split were standard NJCC rules. There is a little more flex in the rules recently but overall the game is the same from one casino to another, very unlike Nevada where the casinos have a great deal more freedom about blackjack rules
