The big thing is that the relative lack of draws on the board makes his flop cap much more likely to be a big hand. And while that big hand will occasionally be something like AA or KK, it will more often be a hand like 44, 88, J8, and even those hands that you're still ahead of, like AA or KK, are drawing to a fair number of outs against you.

Greg was right on...He had KK. Two hands later I raised 99 otb after him and 1 other limper. He c/3bet the flop, I folded, he showed his jacks, and I smiled.

I check/call down from the turn on. On the flop there aren't many draws available, which makes it more likely he has a real hand.

You should have at least seen the flop for one more.
Great implied odds if you hit a 9.

I'm guessing he had J-8 or a set?

Maybe a bit too aggressive on the flop.
