Creating a \"clean\" computer

I don't think the regedit trick is working anymore. I tried twice tonight on my comp. Can anyone confirm?

*bump*

I want to reinstall TruePoker and either Hollywood and/or Pokerroom as well. Obviously so it looks like it's the "first time" it's been on this computer.

(Or is that an issue with True and PokerRoom?)

- Delete software in Software control panel
- In Internet Options delete all cookies and history (also offline) files
- In regedit search for what you are looking for (poker, or party, or whatever you are removing) and delete everything.

That should do the trick. I guess.

Re: Creating a \"clean\" computer

I'm well aware of the steps:

1. CONTROL PANEL - Add/Remove Programs : Delete all party skins

2. MANUALLY DELETED the PartyPoker and skins folders from "Program
Files". Seems that Step 1 didn't catch this.

my computer >> local disk (:C)>>program files

2. REGEDIT: Do a search for "regedit". It should be in the "c:\\windows" folder. Open it. Click on tabs: HKEY_CURRENT_USER >> Software >> then delete (Party skin) folder.

3. REGEDIT: Go back to the registry folder. Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >>SOFTWARE>> Calculator>> (delete the UCID file)

3. FIREFOX AND IE: Delete all cookies, cache, and history.

Mozilla: tools>> options>> privacy>> clear all

4. SEARCH ALL FILES AND FOLDERS FOR "PARTY" or "empire" etc. then delete them.

5. SEARCH THE REGISTRY - for any additional keys relating to "PARTY" etc - If so delete

6. REBOOT

7. INSTALL party skin with a different email address.

All other pertinent info remained the same - name, username, street address, Neteller.

8. REINSTALL SKIN
===================================

wondering if anyone has done it successfully in the last week.. maybe I just missed a file

You might like MS Virtual PC for this trick.
You can run the virtual computer in a mode that allows you to undo all changes on switching it off.
So you have a clean virtual computer, start it up, install the software in question, register with the site etc., power it off and delete all changes. Rinse and repeat. Works great.

I saved this link earlier in the year when people started reporting that the simple reg edit change was no longer working. Seems this poster found something in prefetch. Hope this method works for you.

this might work
