Thanks, Percula.

Bugstud just told me about the Wynn, and I'm pretty pumped about playing in their 5/10 game now.

See ya in the game!

Because you have a 15K bankroll and are ready to play the 5/10nl at the Wynn I fail to see why you need to quiz this board about it.

MrFeelNothin, yes, I must be an idiot for playing the sofest nl game in vegas. What am I thinking?

what about "I'm bringing 15k with me" brought you to the direct conclusion that his bankroll is 15k? You really are looking like more of an ass with each reply.

I, personally, don't carry hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash when I go to a casino. I dunno, it just feels weird. Usually 15k is plenty to jump into a few 5-10 or 10-25 games, seeing as how I usually win. But I guess you must carry 15k as your bankroll, in order to be able to play the MGM 1/2. I can recommend some poker coaches, if you'd like...

Ok, this is my last reply because I really don't give a damn about this anyway.

Well it might have something to do with the fact that he said he was coming to Vegas to play poker apparently and he was bringing 15K. Now being that I live here, maybe I am confused, but if you come to Vegas from out of town, you bring your bankroll.

No idea where you are going with this rambling. I never said anything about buying into a game for 15K. Why would I bring 15K to play the 1/2nl at MGM when the cap is $200? Who is really sounding like the ass here?

After reading the OP, I was simply curious as to why a 21 year old student who has 15K to bring to Vegas to play high stakes poker, needs to ask this forum where he should play. Seems to me someone of this status and wealth would have a clue already.

I've heard the Wynn has a 1/2 no cap game, but I also heard that it's a nit fest (although since it'll be the New Year I'm sure there'll be some gambooolers).

[/ QUOTE ]

The wynn's no cap small game is 1-3, not 1-2. All their no limit is no cap. However, it usually doesn't make much of a difference, as most people buy in for a reasonable amount of chips. At 1-3 I typically buy up to about $300, at 2-5 up to about $500. I have never had a problem with being outgunned by huge stacks of hundreds, although once in a while there will be a very large stack at the table. Really it's quite pointless to buy in for $5000 when everyone else has $300 or so.

As for the nit factor, sure, play in the middle of the day and you'll find lots of nits. The games range from nit heaven to fish city, you just have to be selective and play at prime times (late night and very early morning).

Another place you might try is the new caesar's room. I'm going to try it for the first time either tonight or tomorrow night, so I can't really comment fully yet, but it should be worth a try.

When MGM's 5-5 game is going it's usually action city. MGM is a great place for small capped buy-in no limit games, perhaps the overall best in the city.

Excal's 1-3 no limit is often very good.

Over the new year weekend everywhere will have great games so there ain't really much to worry about there.

Thank you for your reply. I basically figure that for most no cap games people will usually buy in from 5-200 BBs, but there's always the case of the uber-fish who has more and there's nothing more painful than only being able to eke away 100bbs from his stack when you finally get into a pot with him.

Did you mean no cap? I haven't heard anything about MGM, although overall I don't like the casino. It's too old school Vegas, and I'm a sucker for the new stuff.
