For those who say they hate chasers!

Ok. so last night went to a casino an hour away from my house in Brantford Ontario.

Normally id play 5/10$ but i figure i can beat the 2/5$ with less risk incase i keep getting sucked out on for a bad night So anyways. Some situations that arose last night that proves why a better player will be a winning player at tables with inexperienced horrible players.

YES u may get sucked out on as proved last night with pocket aces a dood chases to river to hit a 4 card straight on the board and i lose a big pot.

2 hands later same guy chases to the river and hits another 4 card straight against 2 pair (aces and queens) At this point in FUMING but i do my best to calm down and keep playing MY game not his.

One fellow just from when i sat down won about 8 pots with made flushes and is up from 100 to about 500. Yes this game does have on avg 7 ppl in a pot and 3-4 seeing the river. This guy is a horrible calling station and we all just knew he wasn’t going anywhere so as soon as his luck turns around he pisses it ALL away. Lost every penny.

Anyways, I stick to my game plan. And start to catch a couple nice flops.

Ive really found that most of my money came from 3 ppl. And guess what? They were all calling stations. One of them is the guy who sucked out on me 2x. but remember mathematically you will be the winner, not him, These types of games can be very profitable if you can adapt to them and also keep your cool when you do get beat by chasers.

I find the most profitable situations in these types of games are when you outkick someone. 3 or 4 pots I played Q,10 suited or Q9s or king jack, A,J – A,10 etc.

So many people play ace rag in this game like it’s a solid hand. I cant even count how many times I saw ace 5 win a pot. If you play hands with decent kickers in this type of game you will win most of your pots. I was still half in the midset that people in these games have a clue whats going on and almost folded winners to reraises but then it clicks. Hes got top pair with a horrible kicker, I just know it. So I call him and he turns over Q2 offsuit to my Queen 10 suited. I win  YAY. So u see. These games can be very good games if you can keep your cool and play decent SUITED hands. You don’t have to wait for great hands. Just mediocre hands are almost always good enough to win.

Oh, as final results i only finished up 100 after 3.5 hours BUT imagine how much i could have made had a got a tad more luck on my side and even one 1 of those 2 big pots i lost.

Anyone think im wrong? Lets hear it : ) What are everyones thoughts on this.

When I get stuck in a loose passive game (which happens a lot in casinos) I tighten up just enough to where I'm only really playing high connected cards. You can't make those guys fold with well played hands so you have to win on your cards alone more often then not.

Where on a tight table I'd be consistently playing down to 76s I wouldn't go under JTs at a LP table. TPTK is always a great hand in these games; but fish occasionally get AA so you still have to play with some smarts to make it a profitable venture.

Assuming lots of limpers and I'm in late position I'd play it everytime. In general, though, I'd rather play high suited cards then hands that are easily dominated. Maybe 76s wasn't such a good example of that.

Lord above I see enough bitching in here but not a single piece of advice. Just saying WPE or anything like that isn't going to help anyone on any forum in here. So please, oh poker god that you are, post something constructive.
