What a sick call

Props to Grinder for not going broke here - he and Antonius were two of the top three stacks (260K and 240K respectively) at the last update:

Per Pokerwire:
On a board of K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Patrik Antonius bet 15K and Michael 'The Grinder' Mizrachi raised to 45K. Antonius called and the river came 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Antonius bet 80K on the river and Mizrachi called. The players turned up:

Patrik Antonius 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Michael Mizrachi 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Antonius took the pot of over 270K with his 9-high straight.

Well, think about it, what does raising accomplish on the river? What worse hands call the raise?

You're chopping with any other eight high straight and the rare times he has a nine high straight you go broke.

Geez... talk about some tough luck - not much more he can do:

Michael Mizrachi and Patrik Antonius battle again
"Patrik Antonius raised from the button to 4.5K and Michael 'The Grinder' Mizrachi re-raised from the small blind to 15.5k. Antonius called and the flop came T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Mizrachi bet 30K on the flop and Antoius pushed in. After thinking for about 5 minutes Grinder mucked his cards face up. He showed pocket J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Antonius showed Mizrachi his pocket queens before raking the pot."

If I were Antonius, I wouldn't have showed the Grinder my cards unless it was AQ. I'd either want him tilt, or guessing.

you guys are dumbing down how sick this call is

how do you put a guy on a bet/ call of a raise with a gutshot on that turn?

i guess it's a "routine call" for you guys- but i'm pretty damn impressed.
