A beginner flop draw

A live $100 buy-in tournament with 80 players.

Everyone starts with 1,000 in chips. Most of your opponents are too loose and not thinking players, but there are some decent players sprinkled in there.

Top ten pay, with 60% of the money being split by the top 2 players.

Blinds increase at a moderate and reasonable pace.

It's very early in the tournament and the blinds are 10-25. You have 1,000 in chips before the hand.

A solid player limps in EP (t965), a weak-passive player limps in MP (t915), the SB (t1050) completes and you check in the big blind with J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].

The flop comes 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and the SB bets out the pot, t100.

The book on SB is that he thinks highly of himself but his skills are suspect. He gets off from making "great plays" and is quick to point out mistakes of others.

Despite his annoying personality, he doesn't seem to be overly aggressive, so his bet *could* mean something.

What's your flop play and plan?

If you call and it's raised behind you, do let go then?

If you call, it's folded behind you, the turn brings a blank, how do you handle another pot sized bet (t300)?

Any and all comments welcome (even if they involve beer league softball exploits).

Thanks...

Luke
