Los Angeles - Hollywood Park

I played at Hollywood Park in LA yesterday in the 3-6 hold 'em game.

I was amazed at how awful most of the players were. For those who go there, did I just get on a good (for me) table, or is that normal for Hollywood Park?

just how good do you expect 3-6 players to be?

I usually play online. Often there is one or two bad players at an online table, but not six or seven like at HP. I'm just curious if that's common there.

The majosity of B&M players will be awful even in alot of the mid limit games. You have alot to look forward to

If you play 6/12 at Hollywood Park, I would be amazed if there are more than 2 good players at your table. Expect 7 fish who play so badly it hurts to be sitting there drooling away their paychecks. Below 6/12, there will be no good players.

It's the norm, Hollywood Park has some of the worst players I have ever met in my life, at least at the 3-6 / 6-12 / $200 NL i have sat at... other live casinos aren't exactly full of great low limit players, but HPC seems to take it to a whole new level.

I was at Hollywood Park yesterday evening too, but I was playing 100NL.

Expect just about every player to be terrible at your table in low-limits at a B&M until you get up to 10/20 and above I suppose. And even then, most are bad. I don't think it really gets tough until maybe 30/60 and above. But most of my experience in these games is just hear say and standing near a table watching them play, wishing I had the money to play.

I've been wanting to jump into that 200NL game at HPC, but don't have the live bankroll yet.

Not just Hollywood Park, it's most LA casinos. I've been playing at the Bike recently. The players take pride in playing bad. The call raises and capped pots while saying "play anything" and when they get to the river they say "hold em is a chasing game" . I've raised pockets Aces on several occasions and it is often capped by the time it gets back to me with 7 players. If you get the whole table they laugh and say "family pot".

The games rotate on looseness during the night, but for the most part they remain pretty loose.

I was at a game just north of Toronto and the 20/40 game had routinely 4 to 6 to the flop and 4 morons chasing brick boards. It's amazing how bad relatively expensive live games are......

fear the rake! I havent played there in a few months, but last time I did they had 3 blinds, 8 players max, and all of it went down the drop.
