Very general noobish MTT question.

Well, I'm playing in my first MTT with add on and rebuy (Haha kind of funny, because it's a $1000 guaranteed with only 2 tables).

When the add on and rebuy time period goes by, approximately how many chips should I have in front of me? Does it depend on how many are left? If so, how can you determine this?

Thanks all.

PS This seems like a donkfest.

If this is a multiple rebuy event, I like to look down and see 50xBB+ (say, 5000+ on PS) or so in front of me as the rebuy period ends and before the add-on. The rebuy maniacs turn these events into deep stack tourneys by the time the blinds his 50-100 or so and with anything less than that, I find it difficult to play back against the folks who have profitted the most during the rebuy period and have stacks of 150xBB+ (say, 15,000+ on PS).

If its a 1 rebuy/1 add-on event, I am less concerned about where I am stack-wise and just play it like a straight MTT (since there is much less variance in stack size). Take that one rebuy immediately and play your normal game.

It's at Party, and there have been 4 rebuys and 0 add ons so far. Break time is in about 15 minutes.

Nobody has a huge stack really. Should I add on once or twice at the minimum?

Not sure what to do here and time is running out!

PS Out of the 20, there are 15 left.

As of now I have 26BB, so I guess I will add on at least once.

Only 4 rebuys? What kind of abomination is that? If you can rebuy, do so immediately and then get the add-on too.

Wait, is this a guaranteed? If it is, and there is an overlay, you may want to keep your equity investment down if you are around the average. If this is the case, skip the rebuy and grab the add-on.

I couldn't rebuy as I had a lot more than the starting 1500.

I did rebuy, though.
