2001FP - quick question

It just arrived. FU Party for releasing the Beta.

Ok. White DVI cable or blue video cable. Which? Or is the end result identical.

I use the blue, no problems.

not quite sure what the difference is, they look the same to me...

ah....I think the white - I thought the blue was for VGA - definately use the DVI over VGA -

I'm leaving work in 20 min. - I'll see what I got when I get home. If you look closely the cables should have different ends and one will match what your video card has and one won't, most likely.

I have a Dell 9300. I can plug in using either, or get two monitors and use both. Just wondering if there's quality difference. I doubt it.

Ya, if it can get better than what it is for me, i'd be surprised.

I use an 8600 fwiw. I might try switching cables just to see the difference.

Soooo, have you experienced the wonders of this monitor yet?

Just plugging in now. If it has dead pixels I will kill you all.

Re: 2001FP - quick question

I think sometimes I saw these things used as color coding - a blue and white interface on the card and blue and white cables -

I really doubt it'll make a difference - I didn't think the cables were identical - but if it's DVI or VGA, go DVI first, VGA only if you have to, and you don't need both (if your video card offers both options - I don't know if that model Dell you have does or not)

1600x1200 res. is the best for me - I do have one bad pixel- if I go all the way to the far right edge then about a millimeter over I have a white pixel - I saw it and and laughed as I thought of all the people I used to fix crap for at COMPUSA who would have gone without one for two weeks as they returned it.

I really like mine - The way my desk is built I only have room for one, but someday I'd add a 2nd when I revamp my furniture situation.

Enjoy your purchase.

Ok. I'll try the DVI in a bit.

First impressions, pretty good. Leaking light in the bottom left near the USB ports though. I think I'll keep it as it's not that big of a deal, pretty hard to notice on anything but a black screen.

Gonna inspect for dead pixels now.

leaking light? Don't know what that's about - odd...

You can't tell at all when a table is on it.

No dead pixels. I will probably keep.
