PokerSpy

Alan Shoonmaker promotes the 'PokerSpy' software in Card Player magazine. This software claims to track general player stats for several online poker rooms. It is supposed to be able to reveal to you 'mucked hands'. Anybody have an idea if this is true - beyond of course what we can all do by requesting hand histories for players that stayed to the last bet?

yup it works. A pattern maper is also good. Every serious player should have a pattern mapper

A good Pattern mapper is worth its weight in chips. Be sure to buy a good one though. If you don't spend $500, it's probably no good. All the top players use patern mappers.

How can the 'muck cards' part work without obtaining information beyond the reach of standard play? Where would it get the info from?

You know when someone calls your river bet, and you go check the HH and see what they had? This program does that for you and displays it on-screen.

It is a neat little program. It uses HH's to determine hole cards and makes player notes automatically (within PokerSpy, not to your room's notes file), rating players on tight/loose and passive/aggressive. It also makes note of odd plays - such as did not raise QQ in EP or played Q7o in MP.

That is a sweet piece of software. If you are trying to find it, the actual name is Poker-Spy.
