Anyone have experience with epassporte?

My account was just frozen due to "suspicious activity".
I had a small balance on the account, it is now locked up and I can't access it.

Telephone support refused to give me any information. Said I had to send an email. What is the point of having telephone support if they won't even answer the most simple of questions.

So WTF? Any one have to deal with these people?

**bump*** Sent email inquiry Friday. As of Monday night, no response to email. Called customer "service" again, still no information or answers.

Just recently started using Epassporte. So far no problems. My GF uses as well and we have done multiple transfers to Pay-Pro and each other as I share a BR with her.

Did you hit $5000 in your account? I did and they froze it. I had to send in info and scans of ID to get it unfrozen.

Re: Anyone have experience with epassporte?

Got an email:

"Pursuant to ePassporte Risk Management policy, we regret to inform you that we can no longer accept your business. Therefore, your account will be terminated immediately. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused."

I have no idea what "Risk Management Policy" I have violated, but they refuse to return the balance in my account.

"Customer Service" suggested I contact my local police, fill out a police report, and have the police contact them to get my money back.

WTF? Please keep us updated on the situation. You have no idea what may have happened?

I use Epassporte occasionally myself and have had no problems so far.

Re: Anyone have experience with epassporte?

I was using epassporte to transfer funds (non poker related) to a business partner in Europe.

The rates for transfering money to his account, and the partner being able to withdrawl from an ATM, was cheaper than sending him the money via Western Union.

Now I guess it is back to Western Union. Nothing illegal, legitimate business transactions, transfering funds.

I guess the transfer funds "feature" on their cards is one they have but shouldn't be used.

I just got off the phone with customer non-support, and still have no idea what part of "risk policy" I would have violated, and, of course, no return of the balance in my account placed there by myself.

Re: Anyone have experience with epassporte?

Suspicious activity probably alludes to possible illegal internet traffiking of any number of possible contraband. If you've used the account to obtain or purchase anything remotely resembling contraband - ie; drugs, pornography, etc., - then they could claim suspicious activity. This is just one scenerio. The most important thing is to stay on top of your account, and make frequent withdrawals. These e-bank sites are not insured. We are at their mercy.

I use PayPal to transfer funds to my family in Europe. You might consider opening a Paypal personal account for that purpose - it's free up to a certain amount ($2,000 I think), then they may want to take a small fee. You might check it out.

Re: Anyone have experience with epassporte?

I wasn't purchasing anything ... it was fund transfers to another epassporte card.

You think "internet poker" might fall in that "suspicious activity" category?

Like I said, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
