Most profitable situations...
A friend of mine was complaining about how whenever he gets a monster hand, his opponents have nothing and he never wins big pots. Which got us talking about ideal situations that pay off the best. Assuming equal stacks of opponents and NL structure, what do you think are the most profitable situations? (read: you're going to get all their money)
I always think the full house vs. nut flush is a big one, but the flush has to see that paired board and at least think its a possibility. Straight flush vs. nut flush might be the best. Set vs. Over pair Set vs. TPTK Set vs. Top (or any) 2 pair Lets hear some others. |
Re: Most profitable situations...
Set over Set has got to be on that list

Re: Most profitable situations...
board reads 5 6 7 8 9 (or similar) with no 3 flush
you hold JT... you get the idea or 7 8 9 J Q you hold KT... you get the idea |
Re: Most profitable situations...
Quads over quads usually pays well.

Re: Most profitable situations...
hahaha, I like it. The only way I think it would be better was if the AK [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] was one of the party donks that buys in for the table min.

Re: Most profitable situations...
Big card trips (ie, two bigs on board) against your small pocket pair that flops out a set. Big trips almost always hold up, and most bettors don't even consider a small boat lurking in the weeds. If the big cards are Aces or Kings, you're almost always looking at an all-in.

Re: Most profitable situations...
There have been alot of good hands posted.
But another thing that needs to be considered is position. Sitiuation: board paired twice, three to a straight flush/royal flush: Qs Qh Js Jd TS Full house (AQ) - all-in Quads (JJ) - all-in Small straight flush (9s 8s) - all-in Royal flush (As Ks) - all-in. If the full house is last, he might not call, figuring the best he might do is tie. |
