Never Short a Dull Market?

Does it get much duller than this?

Earnings start coming in soon, its the quiet before the storm. This earnings season will be quite important because its the one where companies are supposed to show improvement that will point to overall economic recovery. I think there are a lot of bets both ways on this, many think its mirrors right now with all of it being inventory restocking, not demand. Others think its sustainable and will be proven by increasing unit sales and average price increases. Things will be anything but dull very shortly.

no, get on the phone and find specific info for decent sized companies. get a feel for what some of them are doing and make your bet in that direction on an individual basis.

Why not?

Dull markets are great times to buy options. This seems like the calm before the storm....one way or the other. 1080 on the SP500 is a key resistance level. If it drops below that and sustains it watch out below.
