home games/club games in Portland

Does anybody know of any PL/NL home games/club games in Portland? Or any 2/4 or 3/6 limit games? I just moved here on Monday, but want to start playing. Either post here or PM me.

thanks,

craig

There is a cluster of Casio's 30 minutes north up the I-5 in La Center Washington. They spread up to 10-20, but not any NL cash games that I know of (some tourneys though). Spirit Mountain casino is 90 minutes Soutwest of Portland and has a nice room that spreads NL (100, 200, and 300 max buy in I believe...) on Friday nights. There is also a local card club that I know of, but I have not been able to get in to play. I will PM you the web site, but you basically have to know someone to get in. I know a couple of peole that have played there, but have not managed an invite myself yet.

Spirit Mountain Casino (about 60 mi. SW of Portland) usually has a 1/2 NL $100 Max buy-in game going on the weekends. I have played it the last four Sundays. Very fun. $500 high hand every hour on Sundays, too.

are you talking about some place called "The Factory"?

The place I'm talking about is called the "Portland Rounders Club" or someting like that. I don't know if that's the same as the factory, but I believe its held in a wharehouse somewhere. My understanding is it's members only. I am not a member so have never been. I tried to contact the club to join through thier website, but never heard back. ( I would like to go though...)

Welcome to PDX! Great city with plenty of games going on.

You can find some information on the Portland Rounders venue here: http://www.portlandrounders.com, and for the groups that play there on Monday through Wednesday you can find more details (and invites) here: http://poker.meetup.com/127/

Last I heard the Friday games (which are quite good) were closed to "drop-ins" - so you need to come with a member to get into those. That may have changed, but I doubt it. The Meetup games are still open, although you may need to join the email list. I occasionally play in these games and the skill level is all over the board. There are definitely some strong players on Friday nights where the buy-in is typically higher, but there are still many with less skill (including myself). Generally the tournout is good with anywhere from 4 to 6 full tables per night.

There are also plenty of home games of various stakes around and once you start chatting with folk you will certainly get more detail on those.

I still get notices for the Monday through Wednesday games, although I haven't had the time to play there in a while. They are cheaper games than the old Friday nite ones, but I can't speak to the level of players anymore. Check the meetup link for details.
