Question on a Cruise
 

Honestly I don't know if this belongs in B&M but my 10 minute search yielded no results so . . .

My wife, not a poker player, has agreed to go on a poker cruise. This is one of the many reasons I genuinely love her with all my heart. My question is advice on a nice cruise we would both enjoy, me with poker, her with shows and sites that did not interfer with tournaments. Say, I play 4 of 7 days? And her in a freeroll?

Any recommendations? Thanks!

The MRS was googling cruises last night. Cardplayercruises.com has one for like $1,100 each and She found a Carnival cruise for December that has a poker room for $600+.

The December cruise leaves New Orleans and go to the Bahamas.

unless the Party Poker Millions is the exception...card-players cruises are quite good.

They have more than just the December one obviously.
Also the Alaska and Europe and a couple of Mexican Riviera, etc etc.

The poker-cruise 'regulars' I met (mostly older folk) confirmed that the other poker-cruises are quite good also.

On the PPM cruise they had 60 poker-tables from 2/4 limit up to 100/200 (or higher perhaps) as well as NL, omaha, etc etc.
The dealers were MUCH better than I expected (and I'm kind of picky about dealers...for example: I thought the WSOP dealers were pretty bad for the most part).


If you are looking to play poker on a cruise I highly recommend those.

Someone posted in the general-forum recently about going on a 'regular' cruise that had some sort of poker-room. His experience was pretty lousy...3 poker-tables in some converted storage-room in the back (drink-service wasn't really making it back there..etc etc)


On the PPM cruise I was playing 10/20 with an ocean-view.
Not too shabby.

My GF who knows ansolutely ZERO about poker had a terrific time too (i had concerns that so many poker-players together would be too weird for her....but it wasn't too too bad).

I am also booked on the Card Player cruise this December. My wife doesn't play, but she knows enough about the game so that she can sit at a table and play with the other little fishies. I will be posting a trip report on that one.

The B&M forum has been absolutely RIFE with posts about unbelievable floor calls made in casinos new to the poker biz.

For this reason, I wouldn't think of planning a poker cruise that is NOT a CardPlayer Cruise.

Here are your choices:

--You can choose experienced dealers, floorpersons, and staff;

--You can have a dishwasher/dealer, a bartender/brush, and an assistant cruise director/floorman.
