im trying to fold more, hows this?

villainis 26/12/2.4 after 9349 hands.
his cr stat is 7, fbbs is 48, wsd is 32, w$sd is 61, attsb is 24. his BB/100 is 3.22 despite what id consider to be somewhat ugly stats.

i have no notes on him, which means that hes never done anything dumb with me before, but besides this session (1 hour) i dont remember playing with thim. these stats are datamine.

I don't think overpairs heads up is a good place to add folds. I think checking behind on the turn and paying him on the river is a better option than betting if you are going to fold to a CR. I could maybe find a fold with Q7 here, but not with AA.

i agree w/ cartman here that this isn't the place to start finding folds. he might also have you pegged as capable of making folds on scary boards and be pulling this move w/ just a pair or something like that.

if does have a j, you have 3 outs to split (i know that's know what we're looking for but it helps a bit) and if he has two pair we have outs.

sometimes on these ugly boards i check behind because they will always bet/bluff the river and i want to get to showdown.

You should see a showdown with an overpair heads-up 100% of the time.

I don't know what everyone is complaining about. Based on your read and the size of the pot this fold is not very hard...nh

Any generalisation that includes the term 100% is always 100% wrong.

What part of the read makes this fold ok?? The player is tight and agr, that's all the read tells us, who has CR% of 7 over almost 10k hands no way i'm not dropping it.

Re: im trying to fold more, hows this?

i think the read they are using is that the villan does not go to showdown very often, and when he does, he usually wins. that being said, it looks like villan is getting to a showdown in this hand, therefore we believe that he has a strong hand and will win a large majority of the time.

that being said, i still think i call this down. i really hate folding an overpair in a heads up situation where the pot has grown to a pretty decent size. save your folds for the small pots. there is still some chance you are ahead, and if you arent, you still have a chance for the board to pair and beat his 2 pair. of course you are dead to a straight...but you still have outs sometimes.

Happy Birthday.

Tough Hand.

I can't say that I fold here, and it has got me thinking.

What's the motivation for betting on the turn?

Not allowing diamonds to get a free shot? Or a lower pair a shot to hit a 5 outer?

Does this risk outweigh the ability to just showdown here for one more?

I think villian in this case will fire again on river, so calling the turn c/r is really commiting us to 2 BB's for 7 total.

Hmm. I think I bet this turn and typically go to the river in this situation except to the tightest and most passive players.. (which villian doesn't appear to be)

Of course this is correct. If the BB leads the turn you probably call down, but since he check-raised it's an easy fold.
