Stars 22s sustainable?
 

I've read the posts which talk about sustainable win rates, but those tend to be for Party & skins, and have a very different tourney-setup than Stars.

Does anyone have numbers for stars? Higher starting stacks means that you can fold to level 5, and with good play have a good chance of ITM, with 5 players left and you a marginally short stack.

I recently redid my game (After losing $1k of MTT winnings on other MTTs) to be more in line with the smart folks here, and the Sklansky, Harrington, Suzuki tournament books. I've been playing seriously on the $22SnGs for only a short while now (~60 games over a week and some -- 4-tabling) and was hoping to guess what my rate should come down to over time?

Since I've redone the game, and since keeping track of the stats, the numbers are too high, and I don't particularly want to be too disappointed when they drop.

I don't think that my 55.4% ITM, and 50.5% ROI is sustainable.

So, lemme know, veterans and smart folks?

of course not. however, a great player is certainly capable of crushing the $22s for a nice ROI over time. thing is, if you're that great, you're not gonna stick around long enough-- you're gonna move up.

More skill + more starting chips + slower blinds = Higher ROI

However the issue here is the tend to take longer than party, and they dont launch as often. If your satisfied with that, and you think your a good enough to player to manage a bigger starting stack, have at it hoss.

I think (read: I think) a 35% ITM and 30% ROI is sustainable at the Stars $20's.

so do I...they're just so boring you need to at least 4 table them, and that might take 30 minutes just to get going at certain times (its been awhile, not sure). 40-45% ITM is more accurate for a good player (remember, only 9 players , so not same as PP)

I agree with this... I don't agree that they're more boring though. I like playing post-flop and having to get in and extract chips to do well vs. the party push or fold model.

Of course, I do realize that you will make a lot more money on party.
