Pokerstars Frequent Points question

If you are dealt cards in a .25/.50 game, and fold without putting money in the pot (like folding UTG or something) and the pot reaches $10....50 cents are taken out. Do you still get 1 FPP for this?

Yes.

Re: Pokerstars Frequent Points question

I think so. Stars points are not 'contributed raked hands' just raked hands.

If you are clearing a bonus, it will take FOREVER at that limit. I'm wondering when I can do it at 1/2.

lol well for one thing i only need 25 points for a bonus clear of 6.00 on my deposit, for another i'm about 50 bucks short of the bankroll for .25/.50, and for one last thing...thanks for the replies : )

actually while I'm on this topic...Is there a generally accepted number for a safe shot at the next higher limit? I know 55 bucks isnt enough, but is 75? 100? for .25/.50, and planning to move down if i drop say 20 bucks from where i start.

Given that relatively few hands are raked I think you can move up to .25/.5 with 200bbs and be relatively safe. Just don't be afraid to move down if you start running poorly.

If you can make the final table at KOTKP, you can take a shot. Clear that bonus and move to paradise. Very nice .25/.50 there.

Don't I want a bigger bankroll than $55 before I move to paradise for the bonus?

Yeah the GRANNY bonus is no more . You also still need $200 dollars to take advantage of the deposit, which is now $50 max (to the best of my knowledge). I need to update that. Whether you want to wait or not is up to you, but FWIW, the Paradise games at .25/.5 ARE easier.

I hear the granny bonus is gone. I'm not sure what they offer now.

Win a few more pots....wait a few weeks....don't worry, the fish aren't going anywhere. I don't think stars .25/.50 is raked that much anyway, so you might just stay there.

This may sound strange, but when I move up, I seem to play better. I get out of my comfort zone and pay more attention and play tighter on all streets, and it seems to help alot. If I'm uncomfortable, I move back down. Try playing one session and see how you do. If it's too much, move back down.
