So...I have $100...where should I start?

I've been playing poker online for a year now. I've made a decent amount of money playing both live and online, but nothing major. I had the roll this summer for 1/2 limit, but that was crippled when I had to go back to school.

I have $1000 in my bank account right now, but I only want to use $100 for poker.

What should my first step be?

Unquestionably you want to start at absolute playing .5/1. They give you a 200% bonus on your $100. You will want to play the .5/1 6 max games. The bonus clears at around $3.4/hr/tabl and on top of that you will make around $1 in rakeback /hr/table. If you have any questions PM me or post here.

I would recommend starting at absolute, they have a 200% first time deposit bonus, play low limit and try and clear that, might take awhile but you need to start somewhere and that would be a decent way to start to build a bankroll...

I would not play .50/1 to start, you will be playing way too high stakes for your bankroll, play .10/.25 NL to start and try and build it up then work your way up to .25/.50 NL and so forth, I would not go crazy trying to clear the bonus untill you have the bankroll to move up to clear it faster, you have 60 days i believe...

any questions pm me...

With only $1000 to my name, I wouldn't be playing poker unless I could quickly replenish in the event of a loss. I'd be casino whoring at $1/hand and looking for a job as backup in the slim event that I lose (not to say you don't already have a job).

Well I have 1100 to my name until Christmas break. I could probably put 200 up in the account but I'd really rather not go above that.

Yes sir, your best options in my opinion are as follows:

1. Absolute Poker: 200% deposit bonus up to $200. That means your $100 will potentially get you $200 bonus dollars. And once you're done with that, reloads will occur pretty much weekly.

2. One of the Cryptologic network sites that offer recurring monthly bonuses. InterPoker for example will give you $90 for $90 and you can do it again monthly.

3. Bayou Poker: Newer "Poker Network" site. Bottomless bonus of 200% on all Neteller deposits. Very slow clearing rate and higher rake than most networks for lower limits.

4. Maybe one of the Prima network sites: Gaming Club will match $50 but they're going to want you to play $2/4 plus which is way over your head at this point.

There are other excellent deposit bonuses at the bigger sites, but you're going to want to be able to maximize them which is going to mean you'll need to build up a $500-$1000 bank roll first.

I personally would go with Absolute and play .50/1.00 Limit. The golden rule is that you want a 300x BB bank roll or more (if you don't know this rule than you should do some more reading before you even think about playing, unless it's just for fun). While this would mean you really want $300-$500 to play .50/1.00 to avoid "Absolute ruin" (pardon my pun). It really depends on your risk tolerance. You said you maybe have $200, Which would give you a good enough shot at building a bankroll playing .50/1.00 assuming you pick up the game alright. Yeah, you might lose it, but like I said, it depends on how much risk YOU want to take. I don't think it's a bad bet. I don't know about the NL advice. I would tend to steer beginning players to a limit game, but that's just me. I would say gamboool and play .50/1.00 or wait till you have a bigger bankroll.

Well I've played all the way up to 1/2 6max properly bankrolled, I just had to combine the bankroll with my school money so I wouldn't have to get a job here at school.

I'm trying some NL over at Caribbean Sun, think I will clear that bonus and then head over to Absolute.
