Any thoughts on playing more than 1 table at a time online?

I see some players, even at high limits, playing 2 tables at a time in Omaha/8. Some seem to do real well, but others seem to just tread water. The articles I've read discourage it. Is there anyone who has been successful at it, and if so, what helped you be successful doing more than 1 table. I tried it a couple times, but it seemed too distracting with the screens popping up back and forth constantly from one to the other. Are there any online sites that will allow you to play more than 2 tables? I think one poster on here said he played 3 before.

i think screens poppin back n forth could be your problem. I usually 2-table O/8... but I set the resolution high enough so I can see both full tables (or see all 4 for HE), I'd up ur res and see how it goes, popping around makes it much more confusing, for me at least

I just cleared the Empire reload bonus by 4-tabling
O/8. The game becomes more mechanical, fewer expert
plays, but the $/HR goes up.

I think it's true. I am doing low-limit omaha right now and my win rate is great..

(especially in comparison to hold'em :vomit:)

I have found that playing 2 tables of O/8 is no problem after a little practice. I think I do better at 2 tables than 1 at low limits. At 1 table, I spend most of my time folding and waiting for the next hand. Playing 2 tables, I am less likely to talk myself into playing a marginal hand after folding 8 hands in a row. I sometimes play 3 when clearing bonuses, but that's about my limit for now. But it all gets easier with practice. O/8 is easier than HE for multi-tabling, because the games are slower and the decisions are more clean-cut.

I agree with this, I three table on a lap-top with overlap. I have an easier time 3-tabling O8 than holdem, as the action is slower.

I also three table on a laptop.

I find that:

1) The action's slower than hold 'em
2) The decisions are a lot easier than hold 'em
3) I'm folding so much, I'm still spending most of my time sitting and waiting for the next hand

Having a bigger monitor where you can see the tables without overlapping makes a big difference.

I find my results are better playing 2 tables than 1 because I’ll get bored and start playing bad hands.

Like anything it’s a matter of working up to it.

I can play 3 tables without too much trouble now, but 4 is a bit tricky for me. But I used to find 2 tables difficult.

I agree with the others RE: screen size. Ideally, if multi-tabling you'll be at 1600x1200 resolution on at least a 17" monitor (preferably larger). There are a few laptops out there that will support this resolution.

I am normally a hold em' player, but I multi-table omaha 8 for bonuses and find its not too bad. To get accustomed, I would suggest starting out with the lower limits.

PS - Check the Internet forum for general tips on multi-tabling.
