JJ and Deep Stacks = Oil and water?

First orbit of a 30+3 DeepStack NLHE.

I think you played it fine.

You have to be feeling really behind when he leads the turn on you. A lot of people like to raise that type of flop expecting an ace-face to lay it down. But he doesn't seem to mess around. I'm taking your line though, I don't think it's that bad. With stacks like that and a loose villain I can't fold.

If the guy has played every hand, I think I re-pop him on the turn, and slow down from there. Get a little more value out of his 8's.

Although, the more I look at your line, the more I like it. You got a decent pot, and minimized what you lost if he actually had a better hand.

This is any 7, 33-55, 88-TT, overcards way more often than it is 77, 66, QQ-AA or a 2.

I like the line fine. Raising the turn is ok too, but the check minraise is a 2 often enough that you want to let him bet your hand for you when he's behind and avoid betting his for him when you are. So call turn call river works for me.

The river bet narrows him down to the better side of that range, but it's 99,88, a 7, especially 76, pretty often. No reason to raise the river.
