fellow noobs, here me

When you're starting out, and for a long time thereafter, PLAY ONE TABLE AT A TIME, at least for the first half of every session. Pay attention to every single check and pre-flop fold. Do a little play-by-play in your head if you have to. ("Middle position 2 folds....Middle position 3 folds....Oh my God, cutoff has raised! Cutoff has raised!!!'')

This makes an immense difference and has made poker a much more intricate and interesting game for me. My hand-reading skills have skyrocketed in recent days.

You can't follow the flow of a game when you're two- or three- tabling, and you will never internalize the dynamics of poker unless you narrow your focus.

Too boring? Well, then your skills will stagnate and your game will amount to just playing good starting hands and collecting passively. That gets pretty boring after a while too. Poker, essentially, is a game in which you watch people carefully and remember what they do.

This doesnt apply to prodigies, or, obviously, to 2+2ers who have already gone thru this stage and are able to generate winnings against 36 opponenets simultaneously.

Thank you for your attention.
