passive play good here?

Notes on villian:

"Laggy.raises and caps 66. very aggro vs.3 bettor, checked behind riv with A high. Donk bets flops with nothing into pf raiser, bets flops light multiway, e.g. with weak gutshot on JTx board"

The hand:

I open raise sb with K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], villian 3 bets (blech) and I call.

Flop is J64 with 2 clubs. I check call. Turn is offsuit 8. I check call. Riv offsuit 9. I check fold.

I'd c/r the turn here. If he 3-bets I peel river and fold UI.

Like as a default play? Or specific to this opponent?

Re: passive play good here?

not default, but a majority of the time on a raggy flop if I have a draw I will wait until the turn to pop it. makes it look a lot more like you flopped TP than you are on a draw and a guy with some crap J-hi and no draw is likely to fold. of course against a guy who will never fold a J-hi or q-hi or A-hi hand HU, I will sometimes just play it like you did.

I didn't state it in my notes, but wouldn't you infer from what is given that he unlikely to fold A high?

I'd play it the same, you have basically no fold equity and can probably get him for a few bets if you hit
