furthering my education

I am a culinary student in chicago right now, and i am about to finish with my associates in culinary arts and my dad wants me to finish up my BA at a 4 year college or somewhere that i can further my carrer in the culinary field, i was looking at denver, but i tried to find casinos that have poker so i can supplement my income while going to school full time, so if anyone has any ideas and recomindations that i can look into that would be great
thank you in advance

CA - great action and an awesome place to live, likely some good culinary schools, SUPER high cost of living...
AC - good action but a HORRIBLE place to live, likely no good culinary schools, pretty low cost of living (slums!)
Tunica - good action but who the hell wants to live there, no idea about culinary schools, low cost of living (hickville miss)
Vegas - great action and incredible place to live, several VERY good culinary schools as well as one of the best hotel/restaurant mng schools (unlv), great job opportunities when you get out of school, decent cost of living but going up

like i said before, VEGAS!

vegas would be great, but that would be putting a fox in a hen house, i would go nuts, poker, sluuts, drugs, they dont call it the city of sin for nothing, i would be having more fun then school, playing online is hard for me, i am a loosing online player and a wining live player, i dont know what to do
so confused but thanks for the info,
i have looked into unlv because of there top program in culianry managment, jeez who knew planing for your future would be so hard

Another idea is to get a, you know, regular job to supplement your income. Very few players are good enough that they can count on poker as a guaranteed source of income.

Nothing against you, but I see a whole lot of people around here who speak so casually of how they can make x amount of dollars per week/month/year playing poker. I wonder how many are truly that good vs how many are simply experiencing a good run of cards.

Try Philadelphia. We have the Restaurant School, Philly has world class restaurants. It's only 1.5 hours from AC by train or driving. Close enough to AC to play casino poker, but not so easy as going down the street so it will give you some discipline. Decent cost of living, compared to the other Northeast Corridor cities (DC, NYC, Boston). I love it here.

Providence you got Johnson and Whales University and you are about 45 to an hour from Foxwoods. Very fishy games and far enough away to keep you in check.

You may want to look into this further. I would find the reason why this is true. For me, its concentration and booze. I don't drink while playing live so my results live are better. I know this, have identified my weakness, and am working hard to not drink while I play online.

The thing is, online play gets you to the long term much quicker. It is nice to find your leaks online since you play so many more hands and fix them. It would suck to spend a lifetime playing live only to realize at the very end that you have easily pluggable holes in your game.

B&M rocks! But, there is something to be said for online play as well.

Other than that, Vegas Baby!
