Current opinion of Mike Matusow?
 

After seeing a number of his interviews during Cardplayer's 2005 WSOP coverage, I've found that I no longer think he's the complete ass he appeared to be during ESPN's 2004 WSOP coverage. During his Cardplayer interviews, he comes off as a more of a "harmless class clown" type than an a willfully obnoxious jerk. While his actions during last year's WSOP are still regrettable, I actually believe he didn't mean to be taken seriously. Anyone else re-evaluating their opinion?

This is why you shouldn't judge people after watching them on TV for two minutes.

I was just about to say this in the other Matusow post

I watched him on full tilt a little while ago and he was so damn funny. He complains but he's just joking around.

I think a lot of people just don't get his sense of humor

Used to hate him. Find him funny now. Still find his attitude towards Raymer in the ME last year to be rude and unfunny, but he apologized so I'm cool with it.

I still think he is an assclown, who is just trying to be funny now for the exposure, and to cover up that he is not as great a player as he thinks.

To him, it seems like any exposure would be good exposure.

Oddly enough, he didn't feel that way about his felony cocaine possesion conviction and subsequent jail time.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe his nickname was Mike the Mouth long before there was any TV exposure. From what I understand, the way he acts in front of the camera is the way he always acts. You can either like him or not, that is your choice.
