First, do you make the call pre-flop? If so, what's your line thereafter?

If you are good postflop I think you can make this preflopcall.
CR allin on flop.

k it took me a while to figure out his odds when you check-raise all-in, but it was like 2.5-1 for him to call so I don't like that. I would just open shove this flop. Pot is like 60% of your stack, he'll fold unless he has a solid piece, and when he calls you have outs.

What hands is he getting priced into calling with 2.5-1 that he folds to open push?

AK/AQ/AT/pp/K9/maybe KQ/maybe heart draw/

Basically any draw he'll call getting 2.5-1 but fold to a push. The heart draw isn't particularly likely since hero has two of em, including the ace which of course makes it even less likely. Anyway I think he'll fold a lot of hands that he might have raised with preflop.

edit: He's not getting priced into calling a lot of those hands, but in his mind he's getting priced in, which is all that matters. He'll call with 2.5-1 with all the above hands, even though he shouldn't with some of them.

I didn't think I'd want a call at all, but after doing some stuff with PokerStove it'd actually be quite nice. We're even a 52/38 favorite over 88 at this point, and only a 50.2/49.8 dog to KK.

also, you definitely do have FE here, but you dont mind a call at all. its not like there 5 guys left.

his bet was not even 1/2 pot. theres a good chance hes on some weak steal here. check-raising all-in here not only gives you about the same FE as a push, it nets you that extra 200 chips that you wouldnt have gotten from his 88, or A9o, or whatever hes trying to steal with.

really the only thing that has you crushed is a set.

I'd push preflop. I'd push the flop. I'd push again here and win my money back all in all about 6 times.

FWIW I check raised all-in, villain insta-called w/ AJo. I didn't improve and he took down the pot. In lieu of your responses, if I had to do it all over again I'd play it the same way. Thank you.
