Before anyone gets excited, I am not thinking of folding AA here. With my standard preflop raise, I can have a variety of overpairs. Which, if any, do you fold?

This an extreme example showing the fact I don't fold them enough even when I know I am [censored].

Re: I never fold overpairs

Too many chips in the middle after preflop for you to even think about folding after calling preflop. Calling preflop, IMHO, is just awful here. Push/fold.

Re: I never fold overpairs

He's a good player and I figured minraise meant kk-AA. I know my play sucked.

I rationalized preflop by I will win all his chips blah blah if I hit, and induce a bluff on flop .
And flop I wasn't really thinking, just OverPAIR1!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111111111

Re: I never fold overpairs

I'll be honest, I have a tough time folding any overpairs here. The board looks very much like someone's all-in on either QJ or 2 clubs. Why else would you raise all-in right away here? Say you had 99 -- would you throw in that quickly and risk getting no action from AK? So yeah, I think I'd have a tough time dumping any overpair, but certainly not AA. If they turn over the set -- well then that happens sometimes.

Edit: I'm talking about the first hand posted.

I agree, but I don't fold overpairs enough and I wasn't sure if this was an example. With aces its clear, with jacks maybe not so much (but I call anyway)

With Jacks I would be reluctant to call. Not so much because I'd be worried about overpairs, but because it'd be a lot less likely that he's on just a straight draw.
