Re: Low limit in Vegas

Im making my 2nd trip to Vegas, on August 9th, and found a pretty good website that talks about all the vegas poker rooms, and comps they offer. I am no way affiliated with the website, but it has alot of usefull info.

Why the hell would someone go to vegas and not gamble?

Tell your friends to stay home, they really sound like party poopers.

Yah I was as confused as you are, seeing as it was their idea. But they have every day planned out so it should still be fun. Were splitting up for part of the time.

If you don't mind playing down to 2/4..try the Golden Nugget...worst players I ever saw....my girlfriend killed the game for 40BB on Monday afternoon...so you can imagine the type of action it has on the weekend...

I spoke to Annie Duke on UB about a week ago and she said the Bellagio is her favorite, but loose games are everywhere.

There arent many places that spread her 80/160 game other than the bellagio.

Regarding the Monte Carlo... When i went to vegas last spring, i initially went on a bit of a losing streak ($100). I went to the Mirage to play a bit of 3/6 and won in a rather tough game (reletively speaking). Instead of going to the hotel room like i was supposed to, I stopped in at the Monte Carlo at 2:30 am. I sat down at the 2/4 game and noticed that EVERYONE had a beer nearby. Another interesting thing i noticed was that i appeared to be the second oldest person at the table... there was one old guy in his 60s or 70s, and I was 23 at the time. So the monte carlo is definately soft, especially around spring break. Have fun.

I know this is heresy, but my first trip to Las Vegas (before I started playing poker regularly) was in 2001 and the only gambling over the three days was slot machines while waiting in line for various entertainment/shows. The wife and I saw four shows - Lance Burton, Jubilee, Mystere, some other magician.

I'm used to playing .5/1 on party poker so I'd rather play as low limit as I can find.

I'm staying at the Monte Carlo if that is a factor.

I'm also a .50/1 player on Party. I was in LV this past weekend and played two sessions of 2/4 at the Monte Carlo. The room was tight, but the dealers and players were fun and felt like the typical Party table. The first time I heard the dealer says "7 players" when he/she was laying out the flop, I had to make sure I was playing live and not online.

I, and most everyone else that played, bought in for one rack ($100).

monte carlo has a soft 2/4 game there.....when you get there make sure to have them put your name on the list and after 4 or 5 hours you will get a comp for $6 to use towards food....also if you feel comfortable try and play the 4/8 there...the blinds are 1/2 with a half kill....just as soft as the 2/4 game there

Besides playing in your own hotel try a number of others. You'll be in a great location. Just print the list of Vegas poker rooms, take it with you and tour around until you settle in at a good game.
