it was early in the tourment so i figure i did not want to risk so many chips if i miss i am out and i figure my flush draw was no good with all the raising. How should i have played it?

Unless you have spades fold on the flop. You're getting 2.6 to 1 odds and are a 5 to 1 dog with 8 outs and you probably don't have 8 good outs because 2 of them make a flush and all of them could result in a split pot. Plus, you've got 2 people left to act behind you that could have an overpair or some other decent hand and make a raise in which case you just threw away some chips for nothing.
