Which is more profitable, Abs.+bonuses or Party

Hypothetically, which would be more profitable:

A) Party 2/4-3/6 ish shorthanded limit +rb

B) Absolute same levels with bonus +rb stacked.

Taking into consideration the better games of party and better overall other payment of abs.

A few months ago, Id say Party easily, but Ive been playing both recently and Absolute allows you 6 tables now and if you have a RB deal with them, you are at basically a bottomless bonus and the games to me appear less rocky, I only play 5-10 and under full there.

I make good money playing short-handed at Absolute, but the swings can be crazy.

Even break even would make $20/hour with 3 tables just from RB and bonii.

Party....the softness of games just doesn't compare...I made the switch with the split, but am back to party. I make more from straight up play at Party then with bonus+rb at Absolute.

Party is way more profitable, and even more so due to the change in absolute bonuses.

Meh, Guess im going to party now

Re: Which is more profitable, Abs.+bonuses or Party

I will be re-thinking Absolute. I used to think it was great b/c of the bonus and RB. But- lately- my gawd. I play $2/$4 6 max. If it isn't some donk coldcalling my AA w/ 7 9 off and drawing out on me on the river, it's a TAG playing 6 rooms and not paying me off when I do get a hand. I adjust my style according to room conditions but it always seems there's a perfect mix of guys with VPIP of 50 or more and TAG's. My attempts to exploit the LAG's is often thwarted by another TAG and it ends up a train wreck a fair number of times. I've been a slightly winning player there, but it is certainly challenging. It's time to take a hard look at the numbers. I sure do love the RB though.

Re: Which is more profitable, Abs.+bonuses or Party

I was making about as much money at Absolute with rakeback and bonuses as I would normally make at Party, but that was before they changed the way bonus points are compiled. I figure the same play at Absolute will now result in only about 1/3 of the bonus I used to earn, so things have now tilted back in Party's favor.

That really sucks because I would like an excuse to play someplace other than Party. Once I clear the last couple Paradise bonuses and a couple of stacked Stars bonsues, though, it looks like I may have crawl back on my knees to Dikshit.

Re: Which is more profitable, Abs.+bonuses or Party

Why ddint absolute up the rake and keep bonuses the same? dam feckers!

i thought there whole idea was "WE WANT BONUSE WHORES"? Well up the rake, take more profit, and keep the bonus whores!

Then they'll be the same as party with same % rake right?

(And i get to clear bonuses, and my RB doubles... Oh yes, Win Win).

Meh, ABsolute sucks now.

I ran some numbers. Assuming 12000 hands a month (4 tabling 1.5 hours a day) at 1/2 and assuming 35% of hands get to 10 bucks at 1/2 full you will pull in about $400 in bonuses per month, plus about $150 in rakeback for $650 a month.

5.4 bb/100 hands if my math is right. Still decent. Where can we find better?

$400 + $150 = $650?

Edit: Fixing your math, you get $420 in bonus and let's say $150 in rakeback for $570. That's $4.75/100 hands or 2.375bb/100

I don't datamine myself, but now that Absolute hand histories are saved to your hard drive, I can't imagine it being too difficult to implement.

I'm pretty sure hand histories are only saved if you're actually sitting at the table -- not if you're only observing it. So I don't think you can easily datamine at Absolute as it is now.

Anybody know if the bonuses are hard to clear? I heard with their new points it has gotten harder? Can anybody verify this?

Re: Which is more profitable, Abs.+bonuses or Party

My personal experience only, my points were cleared out about 6-8 months ago, and I played there for the bonus only, it took me 6 months of playing from .50-1 thru 3-6 to collect 3000 points to order a free shirt, I now have a RB account and have been playing a little more only at 2-4 thru 5-10 and have over 3000 points in one month, have never played more than 3 tables and never more than 2 hours in an evening( I have a 60 hour per week job and 4 kids), I was amazed how fast I accumulated the points at a slightly higher level.

Re: Which is more profitable, Abs.+bonuses or Party

I have cleared a [censored] load of bonus through absolute and if you get on good tables absolute is better than Party. The problem is that good tables at 2/4 short never last and they are getting rarer and rarer than Party at 1/2 short. I figured I made about 4 to 6 US an hour off winnings plus about another 10US an hour through bonus. I have given up on the site though because it's way too rocky and seemed to have gotten worse since they allowed 6 tabling. The coup de grace was their raising of the rake threshold. A ten buck pot at 1/2 short might as well be a 15 buck pot at party......

I wouldn't limit yourself to considering just PP and Abs. There are several other networks out there with good bonuses and PP-like loose/maniac players.

[/ QUOTE ]Looking at some rough math I did and didn't save looked like it might be difficult to make up for the difference just by bad player play at party at a level like 2/4 or 3/6.
If you could provide a hypothetical situation of profit intake at one given table per hour for both sites that would be extremly helpful as some people have started to guess at.
If you are making maybe 8-10$ more per table per hour at Abs on bonuses, and you play 2/4, that's maybe 3-4bb/100.
I don't have much expeirence tracking results, so are the worse players at party enabling you to maintain a rate of 4bb/100 MORE?
I guess what it comes down to is largely what the normal sustainable BB/100 rates are for shorthanded at these levels.
Could someone fill me in as to what are some normal rates that one might expect at both sites at those levels and shorthanded?

I havent played at Absolute since late spring, but I used to play 50nl short there and it came out to be ~$12.5 an hour just in bonus + RB 3 tables.

Because TAGs now play more than 3 tables and make up a much larger proportion of the players at any given table

Why bother if you can't see who a rock is after a few orbits you might as well give up poker? All of this nonsense should be illegal anyway........
