Why not bet the \"Don\'t Pass\" line after a point is established?

I understand that it would be "going against the table", but isn't it a long term winner to bet the "Don't Pass" line once a point is made? Especially if the point is a 4, 5, 9, or 10 where the edge on rolling a 7 is quite large?

You have to pay the odds to win at those numbers. Meaning, if you bet Don't Pass on a 5 or 9, you have to put down 3 to win 2. And on the 4 or 10, you have to put down 2 to win 1.

Basically, you're taking a risk by putting down more to win less.

YES! Which is why you aren't allowed to bet the Don't Pass line after a point is established.

He is asking about AFTER a point is established.
You cannot bet the pass or don't pass after a come-out roll

You can bet the Pass after the come out, why wouldn't the casino let you make an even money bet instead of placing odds?

It is only the Don't Pass you can't bet after the point is established.

Boy, this was a really bad post. Do you hate wrong betting that much?

Or is there some detail that you left out, that would make this more intelligent?

It's also a long term winner to place your roulette bets after the ball has stopped, but the house won't let you do that either.

Sheesh, a simple "No, you cannot bet the 'Don't Pass' line after a point is established" would have sufficed.
