Warning message from Party, result of PokerAce/PT?

I just got a warning message from PartyPoker saying that they detected software running on my system that could give me an unfair advantage. The only programs that I had open were IE, Outlook, PA, and PT. I was on the PokerProphecy website checking out their trial feature, but it's not a program you download, just a database you access via an HTML form.

Has anyone else gotten this warning message when running PA/PT?

Thanks,
Will

That's your problem, not PokerTracker or PokerAce Hud.

Are you sure about that? Because like I said, I hadn't downloaded any software, and I'd be surprised if being on a website while on PartyPoker would be cause for a warning message. It wasn't scanning my PP software. I manually typed some stuff in and it accessed its database.

Everybody who has gotten these messages and tried to blame pokerace hud / pokertracker has admitted to using the PP website.

Alright, I'm not trying to blame PA/PT. I love both of these programs, and I would hate to have to stop using them. Like I said, I was just on the PokerProphecy website, and I won't be using their services, as I really don't want to have my PP account close. I'm very glad that it's not PA/PT.

Thanks for the help,
Will

It seems that Party are sniffing everyones cookies for visits to the PokerProphecy web site. This is very easy for them to do. If they detect the cookie, you get an e-mail...it's just that simple.

without a doubt partypoker sniffs for certain cookies

if you are willing to reformat your hard drive (or get a new one) you can organize and configure your computer with security/login options that will not allow programs to sniff around outside their assigned area

this is not trivial but neither is it difficult. on a side note it also stops people from remotely scanning your computer to read your hole cards

Oberonn,
that sounds good to me, did you configure your pc the way you are describing? and if yes, does it function without any problem from party poker?
are you willing to explain some more? or point me to some websites to learn how to do it myself?
thanks
