Canterbury 15/30 9 handed
CO here is a big fat fishy. limps 98o UTG and any 2 sooooted. he is likley 60/4/0.8. donks any flop he has a piece of regarless of the preflop action.

folds to CO who limps, I gas it on the button with A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], SB (fishy) calls, BB folds, CO now 3-bets, I laugh and call, SB calls.

Flop 3 ways (10SB): Q83r
check, check, check

turn (5BB):3
check, check, check

river (5BB): A (no flush)
check, CO bets, I.............

PokerBob,

You shouldn't fold (given the size of the pot) and raising seems wrong (given the CO's 3-bet preflop and his post-flop play) so calling here is the correct play.

If he donks with any piece of the flop he's aggressive enough to bluff at the river when people have shown such weakness the whole way. To me his play reminds me of people who limp raise with medium pocket pairs or who caught a queen on the flop and was "slow playing" it and then bet out of frustration when a scare card comes, the odds on the call look good enough to me.

Can't fold the river he could easily be bluffing that card, or worst case he has an ace and u chop. 10% chance he flopped a monster. I would fold pre-flop though, imo thats about the worst isolating hand in the world. I would rather have 10-9o

Really you'd rather have T9o instead of A2s Preflop? The Ace is a big plus for isolating. I favor highcard strenght and showdownableness (sp.?) when isolating a fat fish.

This makes 0 sense to me. A high has showdown value. T9 doesn't. Considering most of the time you won't make a pair, I can't see why you'd prefer to have a hand that can make two mediocre pairs for a hand with showdown value and the ability to make a boss pair.

FWIW I think isolation raising here with T9o would be awful poker.

I would generally raise A2s, but calling may be better. I honestly don't see how folding could be correct unless you know something about the CO limper.

It's obvious that you have never actually played T9, or you would know that it ... <insert something that really sucks here>
