KJ River Decision

It's been a slow session. Won a decent hand with middle set vs top and bottom two. The villian here hasn't played much so I don't have any great reads.

Just a few hands ago I had been min-raised on a continuation bet. I had to fold. This time I figured I would make a bit of a stand by re-raising as I was comfortable folding to any more action (plus I had position).

When he called the re-raise it confused me greatly and I thought a long time before checking behind on the turn. I was looking to get to a showdown cheaply unless I improved.

Then I hit my top two. What should I do here to win the most or lose the least? As always, feel free to comment on anything else you see fit.

What are you putting him on here? I think KQ is pretty likely. He'd have led out with a set. I'm betting 1/2 pot or so here.

You're ahead, if he had a hand that beats you he would have bet out on the river (or at least that's what I'd generally think, I suck though). I'm guessing he has a king of some sort...let's try $30-40.

It really looks like you're ahead now. Value bet.

Ok, 30 to 40 seems to be the consensus. I'm curious though, after he called my flop 3-bet, is there any value in overbetting here?

Also, in retrospect, I really don't like my flop re-raise. I don't think it had any positive return.

Finally, do you guys like the turn check?

Turn check is fine IMO. What's your plan on the river if you don't improve and he fires out $30?

That was really why I took so long thinking on the turn. When I checked the turn it was doing it with the intention of folding unimproved. If I was willing to see a showdown unimproved, I would have bet 30ish on the turn and checked behind the river.

Interesting hand. I'm not a fan of that 3-bet on the flop. You're too weak for that. I'd just call there and play poker. As played, turn check is goot. VB river for $44.80. (That is if you haven't used your goofy, looks-like-a-bluff bet this session)

Value bet river. Can you explain your flop 3-bet? You have position and TPGK- no need to slam this pot out of proportion.
