Bacarrat beatable?
 

Is bacarrat beatable? Is there a system or is the 5% commission too much to overcome. I only ask cause i see these hard core asians with pens and paper betting with unbelievable accuracy while i lose over and over again. I guess just betting with them would be +EV. But jsut curious if there was a system to beat bacarrat or if its just dumping money.

Either way i decieded to never bet oppossite of them. THey are too money.

Dude,

Trust me on this. The game is a pure gamble and totally unbeatable. Play it for fun only. I like playing, but only do it occasionally. Playing it frequently and/or for big money is a bankroll buster.

P.S. Always bet with the Asian players. When I sit, they wait to see what I do and bet against me. They always win and I lose lol. (Yes, this in jest...in the end, it doesn't matter what you bet on).

actually it does matter just a little bit. Never bet the tie no matter what and the banker actually has slightly lower HA than the player bet. So the best strategy for bacc is to always bet bank and never anything else.

I was betting 75 a hand 25 on tie and 50 on bank. THoughts im a complete donkey..... It was fun though until i lossed it all

I dont remember the exact number and I dont want to do the math again but I think the tie is something like 14% HA with an 8-1 payoff and like 4% with a 9-1 payoff. The bank usually has about a 1% HA with the player having a 1.2% HA.(these are for an 8-deck game)

Keep in mind that as the number of decks decreases the HA on the banker bet decrease and the player and tie bets increase.

The tie bet is awful. It has something like a 12% house edge I think...avoid it. Look, if you want to play baccarat, look at it as an entertainment expense. Say the edge is 2% (it's something like that, not sure exactly). If you bet 100 a hand, it will cost you about $2 per hand in the long run. So say you want to play 2 hours everytime you go there...that's about 160 hands. Your expected loss is $320. In the short term, ANYTHING can happen, but in the long run it will work out about like this. So it's up to you to decide if baccarat is entertaining enough to cost you $160 an hour. Comps also lessen the expected loss. But, do note that the VARIANCE is huge. So only play with money you can afford to lose. Expect that you can't beat it in the long run and in the short run can lose quite a bit (or win quite a bit) quickly.

Most people disagree with me here but I will say it anyway:

Most people will never see the long run in any game with a -EV

The majority of people will sit down and play for 3 hours everytime they visit the casino which we will say is once a week just for this post.

That would mean they are playing 80 hands an hour x 3 hours which equals 240 hands per week. Most people refer to the long term as more than 100,000 hands, that would be about 416 weeks or roughly 8 years before you could even start to expect results of any significance. I dont know the math but I wouldnt think it would be hugely unlikely to still be ahead after 100k hands.

I think im loosing cause im not asian. Asian game im at a disadvatage. Next itme i play im bringing my asain gf ill post and let you guys know if my philiosphy that they are 100% in the blood is right. More likly than not i will post about bad beats.....
