For Monolithic Republicans Only

I recently received a letter inviting me to join the Republican Presidential Task Force (RPTF), an offical "RSVP for Platinum Membership".

I quote:

'Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with President Bush -whatever it takes - no group of Republicans will help our Party more than the Platinum Members of our Task Force"

Cost is $120. You also receive a handsome Presidental Task Force Lapel Pin that is 'tastefully recognizable'.

In addition, your name will be permanently inscribed on the Task Force's Founders Wall located in the Honors Courtyard at the Ronald Reagan Center in Washington, D.C.

All this for a measly $120. Act now. If you have not received a letter yet write to: RPTF 425 second street NE P.O. Box 97111 Washington, D. C. 20077-7466.

Not to be dense... but I don't get this thread. I don't get what anyone's point is. Nor do I know what a monlithic Republican is. (Is a good thing or bad thing... I can't tell if the first poster is pro or anti republican)

Is it just me?

Re: For Monolithic Republicans Only

From the OED:

Monolithic 1. Formed of a single (large) block of stone; of the nature of a monolith.

4. transf. & fig. Like a monolith; massive; immovable, unwavering, unemotional: solidly uniform;(of an organization) large and autocratic or monopolistic.

So, Ahh - Who was Dean talking about?

I think you already know I would never do that.

Thanks for the thought though.
