Questions for my 1st trip to VEGAS

I have searched through some older posts and found some good info, but still have a few questions for the vegas regulars.

1. I will mostly be playing less than $100 buyin NLHE tourneys, I have the list in the back of cardplayer, but would love some suggestions for the best ones to play from those who have (blind structure, staff quality..etc.).
2. I would also like to play in some Omaha H/L cash games, preferably 3/6, 4/8 and maybe 5/10, which casino(s) have these regularly? I would prefer to not play w/ the Kill, but I understand most casinos that spread O8 probably use it.
3. I am staying at Excalibur, got any info on it good or bad?
4. I am going w/ my friend and our wives, we wanted to send them to a spa for a masage/mudbath/whatever the hell they do, is there a decent on to send them to w/ about $100?

I will be there from Oct. 23-26 for what it's worth. Thanks for your help.

Here's a semi-recent thread about The Excalibur. Have fun.

My girlfriend liked the spa at the mandalay bay. As for cost it matters what you purchase.

I am not expert, but a hundred bucks in a spa is like having twenty at a strip club. Send'em to the grand canyon or to a cheap show.

The Excalibur gets great reviews for it's low limit poker game, but nobody really crows about the hotel or spa. That said, it's an Aveda spa so your wife will be familiar with it and not think you dropped her off in some rub and tug.

Prices are on the Excalibur website. Check with the slot club...depending on how long you'll be there and if you or she gambles on non-poker, you can probably come up with a comp or at least a coupon.

The Orleans is your best bet for low-limit tourney structure, by far. It is the only place near the strip where limits don't continually double. They also have 4-8 Omaha hi-lo, but with a 1/2 kill.

Read through that thread, doesn't sound like excalibur is the greatest, but it was cheap, and I don't plan on doing much there besides sleeping... Maybe they at least have a decent buffet.

Allvegaspoker Tourney Page

This should have alot of what you're looking for on the tourneys if you haven't looked there already.

I've only played at the Aladdin for tourneys. Pretty laid back with good dealers. I'd recommend checking it out.

Re: Questions for my 1st trip to VEGAS

I recently got VIP access to the spa on my last casino trip so my girl checked it out. regular massage is roughly about $1 a minute, available in 1/2 and full hour blocks ($5-10 tip). any smelly or muddy stuff added will cost extra. hot tub and steam room generally come w/admission.

$100 won't last all day in there, but a 2-hour mix and match session is definitely +EV for her (and therefore you). only other advice - these in-casino spas are not always payable with players club dollars. if you want a comp you will probably have to charge it to your room and then negotiate with a host on checkout, as the casino may still have to pay cash to the spa for your service.

That sounds good, anyone on the strip have a similar game?
