76 5-5 live

i have 7h6c in the cutoff and limp after 3 limpers in a good limpy live 500 max 5-5 nl game. blinds check, 6 of us.

flop is Ts9d8d. checked to second limper who bets $20. he's an older man who i have no real read on. he has about $500 and i have $800 and everyone else has much less. anyway he bets and the next guy calls and i make it $75 straight. everyone else folds and the old guy thinks for a second and calls and the other guy goes all in $20 more for $95 total. then the all in guy says "im going home".

so there's around $300 in the pot. the turn is 2h. old guy checks and i push.

comments?

"why not raise preflop if you are gonna play?"

76o is not much of a hand. if stacks were deep there might be good reasons to raise preflop, but with all sorts of players always on the verge of all in there's not much point to it, it's just spewage.

Because he's getting good pot odds, and a raise gets called in 3 spots.

I think that after shorty's comment, the push is the best play.

It makes your push look more like an isolation play, trying to get heads up with a weak hand.

that's assuming my opponent is thinking on that deep of a level which he most certainly is not.

playing in live game = implied odds. i limp with all sorts of crap. that being said, i don't do it when stacks are this shallow.

standard and fine on all streets... bigger flop raise is prob good, but maybe you want to leave plenty of wiggle room in this unraised pot as you do have the ultimate sucker straight...
turn push is clear.

Looks fine. Folding preflop is fine too.
