SNG Jackpots

Titan Poker offers SNG Jackpots at various buy-ins with either 6,10, or 12 players.

Here's the format for the 6 seater $23 games I like: 6 consec first places, 35K. 6 consec 1st or 2nd places, 300 consolation prize. 1st - 60 2nd - 36 3rd - 24

The best I've been able to do is 3 consec 1st places, and 5/6 1st or 2nd.

My question is: Exactly how hard is it to hit that jackpot all things considered?

I would think you take your equity for each individual tournament and then multiply them together to get the approximate odds of you winning all six.

So if you think you have a 1/2 (3/6) chance of winning your first SNG and this carries on for the other 5 then it would be (3/6)^5 to win them all.

I have never had 6 firsts in a row with well over 3000 played, I think my best is 4.

Wow, how big of a site is this? This seems like something that would be a huge target for collusion.

If you don't cheat, this is very easy to calculate. If you can estimate your chance of getting first. To simplify, you could just say 1/6 although it should be slightly higher than that if you're a winning player. 6 firsts in a row is (1/6)^6 = 1/46656

Re: SNG Jackpots

If all players are equal your odds of winning the jackpot are about 46650 to 1. Of course, not everyone's equal and a good player will take 1st much more often than average. I don't know much about 6 handed sng's but I would guess that it could be +EV for a good player.

That said, I can't imagine these not being magnets for colluders which definetly can screw with things.
