what is that fruit?

I was watching some TV, and this weird fruity the Loom commercial came on(the one where they were decorating the house with christmas lights) there was a fruit helping out and i had no idea what type of fruit it was. it was like a brown shrub! i am just clueless as to what it is. thanks gentlemen.
