22 worth a push from the bb?

Poker Stars $2 multi I was playing in to get some more multi experience without risking much(anything). In the "money"[60 something left of 1,200 and change] which doesn't get anywhere near "profitable" until final table. Have been at the table a few orbits without much action so I don't really have a greatread but the Villain seemed to like limping in more than most. My goal was not to advance up another payout level as the payouts weren't that great but to attempt to make the final table. With that said the following hand came up:

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t2000 (9 handed) converter

SB (t12892)
Hero (t12299)
UTG (t40183)
UTG+1 (t17035)
MP1 (t27752)
MP2 (t34690)
MP3 :Villain (t24702)
CO (t19839)
Button (t48044)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">4 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP3 :Villain/ raises to t4000</font>, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to t12199</font>, MP3 :Villain/ calls t8199.

Is 22 in this situation worth pushing or should I have folded and waited? My thinking was i was left with 5 bb if i fold and calling 22 was out of the question. I also thought my reraise of 8k on his 4k min raise would still be enough to push him out to pick up the pot... was this a good assumption or do the odds tell him to call here?

I'm new to the site so please let me know if i did anything wrong, thanks.

P.S. anyone else doing the $10+1 Stars multi @ 2:15am cst?

I don't think I would push in this situation. I would either fold or use a stop and go.

You know you're up against two overs (unless an unlikely 2x) so at best you're in a coin flip situation. He's getting over 2 to 1 after your push so unless he's on a complete steal with trash he's going to call you, and even if he's on a complete steal he should call you.

I would most likely fold here. If you want to play the hand then just call and push the flop. Hopefully he didn't connect and can then correctly fold without seeing the turn and river.
