Trip aces at final table

Small low stakes home game tourney
14 players started - down to 4 at final table
Top Five recieve at least rebuy for prize
Blinds are .25/.50

Intersting hand
Hero has A4
Pre-flop
Hero calls BB, Button folds, SB calls BB, BB checks

Flop - 3bb
A7A
Sb bets 1.00, BB raises to 2.00, Hero raises to 6.00, Sb calls,BB raises to all-in, Hero thinks then folds, SB folds

My read on BB was that he had at least A-10 and I was beat. This was after he raised all-in. After the hand I found out that BB did indeed have AK.
SB had around $50, BB had $20 and Hero had $18.00

Is this an alright fold on my part? What would you do in this situation?

it's a good fold. it would have been better had it occured preflop.

I dont hate hate limping PF with a Naked Ace 4 handed, but i dont like it when your first to act and on a shorter stack as well.

While you made a good read, in general if you're going to fold AX when you flop trips, then why are you even playing AX? Looking to flop a set when no one will pay you off?

LOL i didnt even think of that. I guess he was hoping for the moon. A 44A flop or something like that.

I'd guess he was playing it because it was likely he held the only ace and he would probably win when one hit. But then he saw that his pretty good hand was beat, so he folded. Seems like a perfectly reasonable play. A4 is a decent hand 4-handed.

Exactly. I might play my Ax four-handed UTG, but I'd open for a raise. AK will likely raise back and you can get off of it cheaply.
