flush on board
this was kind of a weird hand I thought.
i'm posting the results because i just feel like doing so. If there hadn't already been a caller I might have looked him up to try to split the pot. I was pretty sure the original bettor didn't have a club, but the caller obviously thought the same as me. 5 players, 5/10: UTG (54/0/1.3) limps CO (80/8/0.4) limps Hero on button with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] raises SB folds BB calls Flop: Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Check Check Check Check Turn: 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Check Check Check check River 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] BB checks UTG bets CO calls Hero folds MP has A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] CO has K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] |
Re: flush on board
this pot is mega-small.. why do you even want to split it? foldie.

Re: flush on board
if u think he doenst have a club, and the caller doesnt have a big one...raise? lol

Re: flush on board
Why are you raising on the button after two limpers? Don't we want to limp behind, we surely want a multiway pot with this hand.

Re: flush on board
I was curious if the PF raise would get any comments.
I think that with these 2 loose players my suited ace has enough value to raise. Against 'regular' limpers I probably just go ahead and limp-along. But these guys were something special. |
Re: flush on board
Yeah i noticed their amazing stats after i posted that. You may be right about raising against these monkeys.

Re: flush on board
I like the preflop raise. I mix that up a lot.

Re: flush on board
don't you think a flop continuatuon bet often wins the pot after the preflop raise?

Re: flush on board
I'm not making a conttinueation bet on this cordinated board in a 4 way hand. though you might just have taken it down here, do you think you'll take it down often enough to make this bet..?

Re: flush on board
if you don't bet this, the preflop raise makes no sense IMO.
I'd say you win the pot with a bet here 30% of the time |

Even if they have no club they are calling with any pair/ any draw. Look at those stats. I think raising the river is certainly better than calling, and folding is better than raising. Pot is small, board sucks, dude called, oh well. -blake |
Re: flush on board
as others have pointed out...just because I raised it PF doesn't mean i have to bet the flop.
if i don't like my chances then I adjust/give up. PF raise was for value. the flop sucks, i think that somebody likely has enough to call with (especially these guys). sometimes you just take the free-card. |
