PP NLH tourney, late rounds .. did i play this one right? . ..

late rounds of a cheapo 5+1 NL tourney at PP.
+/- 60 players left out of 1000, average stack +/- 15k
CO w/the big stack (tourney chip leader) just flashed KK the previous hand, so i seriously doubted that he had another big pair. He had been stealing several pots with big bets, and had been caught a few times.
I'm sitting in about 10th in chips. Do I call and try to double up to become the chip leader by 20k chips, or muck and be happy that I'm still in about 15th place? I raised 4x the BB preflop, should it have been more? Any suggestions welcome

ya got all your chips in as a BIG favorite.......
it's hard to do better than that.

Congrats on your fine finish.

Re: ya did great..........just got real unlucky

yeah.. i had a feeling that i was way ahead when i called. .. of course it's easy to second guess after the fact, but i guess the real question is if it's worth risking my tourney life by taking on the big stack. . .even a muck leaves me in great position to move up dozens of spots. . .

the classic dilema. . .play to win it all or play to finish higher in the money

in a $5 tourny you got to play for the big bucks, imo. Well played.

btw, what he showed the hand before has *nothing* to do with what his cards are this time. He was just as likely to have KK this time as he was to get it last time. The past has nothing to do with the future as far as the deck is concerned.

. . .yeah, i know... i've had bullets back to back before, as well as AA, KK & QQ three consecutive hands. . .but when you're lookin' for a reason to slide that stack.. . . . well, ya know. .

Welcome to the boards ReDeYES88.

You can never fold here unless ALL of the following conditions are met:

1. You have known your opponent all your life.
2. He has never re-raised with less than K-K.

Other than that, I'd say you have to call all-in. Very seldom will you find yourself to be a big underdog. More than likely, you will be anywhere from a small to huge favorite. The fact that your opponent has enough chips to double your stack is just the icing on the cake. I call that bet every time.
