(.25/.5) Extracting after AK turns the nuts
Haven't played NL cash games seriously for a while.
Standard, loose, small stakes NL 6m table. Sat with $10 a couple of orbits ago, so I probably don't have an image yet. PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) converter Hero ($12.45) BB ($21.10) UTG ($24.25) MP ($98.45) CO ($14.25) Button ($20.15) Preflop: Hero is SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. <font color="#CC3333">UTG raises to $1</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">CO raises to $1.5</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, Hero calls $1.25, BB calls $1, UTG calls $0.50. Flop: ($6) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font> Hero checks, BB checks, UTG checks, <font color="#CC3333">CO bets $0.5</font>, Hero calls $0.50, BB folds, UTG calls $0.50. Turn: ($7.50) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font> Hero checks, UTG checks, CO checks. River: ($7.50) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font> <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $2.5</font> Final Pot: $15 3 questions, does anyone raise/push pf? Is the turn check the way to go after such weak flop action? Is the river bet too big/small given the action/size of the pot? |
Re: (.25/.5) Extracting after AK turns the nuts
That's a really weak bet by the CO and then the original raiser just calls??? I'd bet the 2.50 on the turn and pot the river if you get called (which I doubt).

Re: (.25/.5) Extracting after AK turns the nuts
I'd make it $6 to go preflop.
Anyway, the way you played it, you gotta bet the turn. Your hand is susceptible to redraws. Don't let them draw out on you for free. Someone could easily have 2 diamonds in the hole (AdTd, KdTd, and even QdTd at these stakes). Are you going to fold when a 3rd diamond comes on the river? No, you are going to lose your stack. So don't let them draw for free when you have a potentially vulnerable hand. Bet $6 on the turn. |

I'd make it $6 to go preflop. [/ QUOTE ] That sounds good. Lead the turn for 2/3 pot. Do the same for the river. |
