Moving from 5/10 SH to 10/20 - What can I expect to drop in bb/100? TY

What have you experienced in moving from 5/10 to 10/20 as far as change in bb/100? It seems that the increase in number of TAGS per player might cause one to experience around 0.5-0.75 reduction - is this reasonable to think?

Also, what about factoring in the number of tables one can play well for a long session. Would it not be easier to play 5 5/10's for 8 hours than it would to play 5 10/20's? So I guess I am interested in hearing what you have to say about the "nature" of these two games and how they differ, especially according to a FULL TIME player (emotional effects according to long sessions, etc...).

Thank You - I appreciate your input!!!!

Game overall is quite a bit more agressive. You get check raised on the turn more often. Average player is different. You will just have to see how it works out for you.

As for emotional... be prepared to take the worst downswing you have had at 5/10, and multiply that monitary value by 2.5.

It depends on how your run.

I tend to drop my shorts and bend over twice / 100 hands.

It is usually best to play fewer tables when you move up. If you do you shouldn't expect too much of a drop in win rate provided you adapt to the more aggressive nature of the higher game quickly.

5/10 is a much easier game to 4-5 table than 10/20 as the players are a lot more predictable in general.

Party 10/20 is pie provided you know what you are doing well.

Problem is most don't, likely including you.

Luckily, the best way to get better is to post here and actually play in the game itself.

Also, I'd find it impossible to play any number of tables for 8 hours straight, let alone the 8-12 I play now. The guy suggesting to play less tables when moving up is spot-on, helps you to really concentrate on the nature of the games.

Good luck on the jump, it has canablized many a poker player.

Oh, almost forgot.

Yeah, variance will be a bitch. Learn to deal with it.

If table selection is not already the first thing you think about, make it so now.

Haven't played much at 10/20 yet, but so far the tables are just as loose, if not often looser, but the play is more aggressive. I have to really watch my post flop play walking the line between making good folds and avoiding being pushed off a hand. The 45/25/3 types are reasonably common.

I've found so far the 10/20 players just don't care if they lose the money. At 5/10 I found more weak-tight amateur dabblers. At 10/20 the players seems to be just financially well off and don't care if they blow $2000 in a night and consequently play fearless.
