Flop check seemed warranted given the preflop betting action and my stack. The small bets were to hopefully get smacked down by a bluff or a strong hand given the passivity of the players on the flop. Bet more on the turn/river (how much??)

bet anywhere from 1500-2000 on the turn, which not only gets more chips in the pot w/o hoping for someone to bluff, it makes for a bigger river value bet.

hoping for a bluff/strong hand that would raise this turn is wishful thinking, its not gonna happen.

I think you'll be given credit for a straight approximately never, and the PF betting action isn't inconsistent with there being some pretty serious hands out there that would like to do battle with you. So I'd bet out on the flop and hope JJ comes at me. I'd bet more like 1400 on the turn, and about 2100 on the river (keep in mind the pot would be larger then.)

What if I put the opponent on no pair or a gutshot 1 card straightdraw

Then you probably won't be making any money on your hand anyway.. Sometimes you'll flop a big hand and won't get action, it happens.. the 25% pot bets are too small, anyone calling 25% will probably call a 40% pot bet.. if you think they have something, bump it up to like 2/3 or 3/4..
