1) Is leading out on the flop better? If I had Aces, I'd take the same line.

I don't play at this level, but from what I know about shortstack play (which comes entirely from reading Rolf's articles) -

I think a reraise is a bad idea here because you are now basically pot committed with 35% of your stack. This is a great hand to play post-flop, but not as good to get it all-in preflop. You are a dog to kings, and even a bigger dog to aces:

Post-flop, the obvious play is to push it all-in to represent your aces like you did preflop. Check-call seems ridiculous.

Your stack is simply too small to be reraising with these kinds of hands. You are almost certain to be a big dog if he puts you in preflop - which you now cant pass - and unable to put pressure on him if you semi-hit the flop as he will now be getting better than 2:1 to see the river. I'm guessing variance is your friend at the moment.
